A crossroads

I find myself at a bit of a crossroads. I haven’t updated LivSimpl in months and feel like I’ve lost my spark with it. Occasionally I’ll roll ideas for a post around in my head but nothing seems interesting enough to write about. I’ve heard about blogger burnout and I guess this is it (although I’ve kept up my personal blog and other site pretty well).
To top it off, my subscription with my hosting provider is up and I’m debating whether or not to continue with the site. While I’ve made a little money from the two ads on here it’s not nearly enough to cover hosting expenses for another year, especially considering I haven’t been able to come up with a topic to get excited about.
So I have a favor to ask: will you please tell me what I should write about? I’m looking for some inspiration.
Please leave any ideas in the comments. I look forward to reading them!

How about simple graciousness. So few people have it and it just take some consciousness to be gracious.
Write about your passion, I know this might sound a bit of a cliche but really, you started this blog for a reason, see what motivated you from the first place and try to feel it and go back to it, read some books or talk to one of your life mentors “anyone can be a life mentor, even your dog – if you have one – “.
What about the very thing you’re debating here? Knowing when to hold on, or when to let go of something you care about.
Sometimes we just need a season of rest. You have the other blogs going on and right now, this one is just on hold. That’s okay. Time will help you determine whether this site needs to continue or not and in what form. During your siesta your creative juices may spark something even more wonderful. Please don’t let the nagging guilt force you to try to keep this baby going even if it’s course has been run. There’s no failure in wisdom. Take care.
Children. Sunshine. Smiles. Color. Honoring yourself. Family. Creativity. Flow. Life your own life. Finding the devine. Fulfillment. Anchoring yourself during the storm. Taking care of our bodies and health. Getting out of the “swamp.”
To me,
Reading + Blogging = Learning.
If it’s worth saving on my PC or sharing with friends via email, it’s worth posting on the blog.
Many years ago, I too experimented with ads on my blog, only to discover that they do nothing to motivate me, and serve as a completely inaccurate indicator of what really matters.
I now know that what really matters is my motivation to keep reading and writing, so that I keep learning.
My suggestion is you write about whatever you feel strongly about, and let the content over time define what it should be categorised as, even if that means renaming the blog or creating sub categories that make its content more meaningful.
I don’t if that b&w photo is actually taken by you, but you could also just post a photograph when you don’t have a voluminous post in you…
I’ve throughly enjoyed subscribing to your blog, and certainly hope this is not the end of it.
Hope that helps.
i don’t know where you found the fork in the road picture, but it’s outstanding! black and white and shades of grey…just like life. switch this one blog to wordpress – it’s free – if that’s possible to do..this maniac world of stuff, stuff and more stuff needs voices like yours. i’m a minimalist. but minimalism doesn’t have to be “cold.” write about that. and sometimes, fewer words are better. it never has to be long. LOL. just observe my comments here…wayyyy too long!
Thanks everyone for your comments. They’re very encouraging! Please keep ‘em coming.
Glad to see you posting again! Missed your posts. :)
Well, since summer is rolling around, people will be hanging out with their friends, and even their friend’s friends. How about a post on being chill with people you don’t know? Or staying strong with people you don’t see all summer? Perhaps some tips on landing a good summer job?
Hope this helps spring up some ideas. :)
Maybe it’s time to distill your previous posts to some of your “core” ideas. Often I look back at things I’ve written and see my ideas even clearer the second time around. Plus it might remind you why the site is valuable and important.
All the best to you on your journey.
Please write about why you cannot write again. And why you are debating about whether you should carry on the site or not.
Not writing something makes me a lunatic.
I’ve been thinking of writing a post about the sort of “withdrawal” one feels while actively de-cluttering their lives toward a simpler existence.
I went through it myself, and while there are plenty of posts on “how to” and “benefits of”, there hasn’t been one that I have found that talks about what one might expect as they pare down.
I’d much rather read it from someone else!
