Reader participation: What were you thankful for?
4 comments so farIt’s been a week since we celebrated Thanksgiving and I’ve decided, as much as a reminder for me than anyone else, to ask, “What were you thankful for on Thanksgiving? Have you remembered to continue to be grateful for it since?”
I believe gratitude is essential to living a simple, fulfilling life. If we can recognize our good fortune, even in the little blessings and happy coincidences we’ll be healthier and happier.
Last week I was particularly grateful that I had a job and was able to provide for my family.
What were you grateful for last week?

Great question! I’m thankful for the wonderful people in my life, the generous readers of my blog, the success and happiness I’ve had all year long, my health, the people who have been kind in my life, and life in general … among many other things! :)
A favorite item of mine to mention at the dinner table before Thanksgiving dinner is that I’m grateful for indoor plumbing and flush toilets. It’s not the most appetizing thing, but I’m still thankful for it nonetheless.
Leo – thanks for the comment! (For any of you who don’t know him, Leo runs a great site – Zen Habits – which I have featured in my Simpl Sites section.)
Peter – No kidding. My mom always says the same thing (although not at the dinner table). ;) Basically, that she could do just fine with out electricity, but the last modern convenience she’d want to give up is modern plumbing. And I tend to agree.
definitely our marriage, our son, and our health :)
